Advaith 2011: A Mega Cultural Carnival kicks off in GIT
The inauguration of Advaith 2011, a National level Mega Cultural Carnival conducted by Department of Management Studies and Research, Gogte Institute of Technology, Belgaum was held on 22 March, 2011. Prof. B.R. Ananthan, Vice chancellor, Rani Chennamma University was the Chief Guest. Shri. Vinayak Lokur, Chief Executive, Expert Engineering, Belgaum was the Guest of Honor. The function took off with an invocation song by Miss Vani and Miss Soujanya to invoke the almighty. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor inaugurated the fest by lighting the lamp. Shri. U.N. Kalkundrikar, Chairman, Governing Council, GIT presided over the inaugural function.Dr. A.S. Deshpande, Principal GIT welcomed the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor, Prof. Prasad Kulkarni, the faculty coordinator of Advaith 2011 introduced the dignitaries and they were florally welcomed.
Shri. Vinayak Lokur, Chief Executive, Expert Engineering, Belgaum with his humorous anecdotes, addressed the gathering. He emphasized on common sense the Business Management & corporate world. We should apply our knowledge and make best use of it. He quoted few short stories on creativity and urged the students to challenge the conventional way of thinking and wished all the participants to be ready to take on the competitions with alacrity, and strive towards becoming the winners.
Prof. B.R Ananthan in his inaugural speech congratulated the students of MBA dept for organizing the event. He said those gathered that it is not enough to dream to climb the ladder of success, but one needs to work hard towards achieving goals in life. He stressed on the importance of ethics, at personal level and also at the corporate level. He asked them to be cautious while speeding ahead to achieve the goals in life. He also stressed on the importance of personal character and wished all the participating teams the very best.
Shri. U.N Kalkundrikar in his presidential remarks said that the learning process triggers when one actually starts doing it, He said that events like Advaith 2011 are crucial to define the personality of an individual. He expressed his concern for the youth for having not equipped with practicalities and advaith 2011 is apt occasion for the participants to show what they are, He also urged the participants to take the event as important step in the learning process and the most of it.
