
Karnatak Law Society's , Gogte Institute of Technology,Department of MBA had conducted a seminar on the topic "Opportunities and Challenges for MBAs in the transitional economy" on 04.03.2010. The seminar was delivered by Mr. Narendra Murkumbi ,Managing Director, Renuka Sugars, Belgaum.

In his speech he threw light on various opportunities that one needs to realize to be successful by giving his own and make use of. He revealed the secrets to face the challenges s own example. He also encouraged to take up the businesses which have got the potential to scale.
Mr. Murkumbi reminisced his stint at GIT during his college days and said it was always a dream of his to become an entrepreneur. He insisted the student fraternity to go beyond academics and be creative in their endeavors; he also said that the event managing abilities to help us to scale new heights. He also said in this competitive era one needs to make inroads by utilizing the opportunities rather than waiting for them to come. These inroads are to be made with one's versatility and an urge to it.
Mr. Murkumbi exemplified the importance of social skills and said the blend of intellectual and personality traits aid the individuals to become successful in their life, meager harping on the fact possessing a post graduate degree would not help to reap the benefits instead executing the skills would ensure success he said.
He emphasized that the economy is growing currently growing at 8 % and is expected to grow at 9% from next fiscal year. He said the amount of progress made by India in the past sixty years is possible in the seven years. He was hopeful of a fabulous future for the youth of this country. He said the Indian economy will soon see a major chunk of its GDP coming from Service sector. The president Mr. U.N. Kalkundrikar praised Mr. Murkumbi for his exemplary fete and acumen. He said that his innovative ideas and foray outside the country makes us feel proud.
